Ruling on learning magic and removing spells from a person affected by magic

Ruling on learning magic and removing spells from a person affected by magic

Is it permissible to learn how to remove spells from a person affected by magic?

Praise be to Allaah.

If that is by doing something permissible, such as reciting du’aa’s that are prescribed or permitted in Islam, or by using a ruqyah that is prescribed in Islam, there is nothing wrong with that. But if a person learns magic in order to counteract magic, or for any other purposes, then that is not permitted and in fact is something which nullifies a person’s Islam, because it is not possible to learn it without falling into shirk. That happens by worshipping the shayaateen (devils), by offering sacrifices to them and making vows to them, and other kinds of worship, and offering sacrifices to them and seeking to draw close to them with things that they love, until they serve a person and do what he wants. This is the mutual benefit which Allaah refers to in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

“And on the Day when He will gather them (all) together (and say): ‘O you assembly of jinn! Many did you mislead of men,’ and their Awliyaa’ (friends and helpers) amongst men will say: ‘Our Lord! We benefited one from the other, but now we have reached our appointed term which You did appoint for us.’ He will say: ‘The Fire be your dwelling place, you will dwell therein forever, except as Allaah may will. Certainly your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.’”

Prescribed means of warding off sihr (witchcraft) before it happens

Prescribed means of warding off sihr (witchcraft) before it happens
What are the prescribed means of warding off sihr before it happens?.

Praise
be to Allaah.

Among the most important means
of warding off the danger of sihr before it happens is seeking protection
through the adhkaar (dhikr) prescribed in Islam, making du’aa’ and reciting
prayers seeking refuge that were narrated from the Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). These include:

1 – Reciting Aayat al-Kursiy [al-Baqarah
2:255] after every prescribed prayer, after reciting the adhkaar which
are prescribed after the salaam.

2 – Reciting Aayat al-Kursiy when
going to sleep. This is the greatest aayah in the Qur’aan, in which
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah!
Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum
(the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).
Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is
in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede
with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His
creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter.
And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which
He wills. His Kursiy extends over the heavens and the earth, and He
feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most
High, the Most Great”

[al-Baqarah 2:255]

3 – Reciting “Qul huwa Allaahu
ahad”, “Qul a’oodhu bi Rabb il-Falaq” and “Qul a’oodhu
bi Rabb il-Naas” [i.e., the last three soorahs of the Qur’aan] following
every prescribed prayer, and reciting these three soorahs (three times)
at the beginning of the day after Fajr prayer, and at the beginning
of the night after Maghrib prayer.

4 – Reciting the last two aayahs
of Soorat al-Baqarah at the beginning of the night. These are the aayahs
in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“The
Messenger (Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from
his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His
Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say,) ‘We make no distinction
between one another of His Messengers’ — and they say, ‘We hear, and
we obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return
(of all).’

Allaah
burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good)
which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has
earned. ‘Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our
Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before
us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than
we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy
on us. You are our Mawlaa (Patron, Supporter and Protector) and give
us victory over the disbelieving people”

[al-Baqarah
2:285-285]

And
it was narrated in a saheeh report that the Messenger of Allaah

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites Aayat
al-Kursiy at night will have ongoing protection from Allaah and no devil
will come near him until morning comes.” And it was also narrated in
a saheeh report that the Messenger of Allaah

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites the
last two aayahs of Soorat al-Baqarah at night, that will suffice him.”
The meaning – and Allaah knows best – is that that will be sufficient
protection for him against all evil.

5
– Seeking refuge in the perfect words of Allaah from the evil of that
which He has created, night and day and when stopping to rest anywhere,
be it in the city, in the desert, in the air or on the sea. The Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever stops to
rest and says, ‘A’oodhu bi kalimaat Allaah il-taammah min sharri
ma khalaq  (I seek refuge in the
perfect words of Allaah from the evil of that which He has created),’
nothing will harm him until he moves on from that place.”

6
– The Muslim should say at the beginning of the day and the beginning
of the night (three times): “Bismillaah alladhi laa yadurr ma’a
ismihi shay’un fi’l-ardi wa laa fi’l-samaa’i wa huwa al-samee’ al-‘aleem
(In the name of Allaah with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven
can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing).” According
to saheeh reports, the Messenger of Allaah

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) urged us to recite this,
and this is a means of keeping safe from all evil.

These
adhkaar and prayers for refuge are among the greatest means of warding
off the evil of sihr (witchcraft) and other evils, for the one who recites
them regularly with sincerity and faith, putting his trust in Allaah
and depending upon Him, and being content with that.

They
are also some of the most effective weapons for warding off sihr after
it has happened, along with humbly beseeching Allaah constantly and
asking Him to remove the harm and relieve the distress. Among the du’aa’s
which have been narrated from the Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to treat diseases such as
sihr and other things is the ruqyah by means of which he

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to treat his companions:
“Allaahumma Rabb al-naas, adhhib il-ba’s, washfi anta al-Shaafi
laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadir saqaman (O
Allaah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and heal him, for You are the
Healer and there is no healing except Your healing, with a healing which
does not leave any disease behind).” There is also the ruqyah by means
of which Jibreel treated the Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Bismillaah urqeeka
min kulli shay’in yu’dheeka, wa min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin haasid
Allaah yashfeek, bismillaah urqeek (In
the name of Allaah I perform ruqyah for you, from every thing that is
harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye may Allaah heal
you, in the name of Allaah I perform ruqyah for you).” This should be
repeated three times. And Allaah knows best.

TV and movie pictures and video pictures

TV and movie pictures and video pictures
I have a question regarding pictures -Are pictures that are manafactured through means such as video, computers etc.

(i.e. they come on and off the screen)permissable? Can you please verify this with proof and evidence?

Praise be to
Allaah.

The
ruling on a thing depends on the way in which it is perceived. It is
essential to know how the picture-making you refer to is done. The author
of Risaalat Ahkaam al-Tasweer (The ruling on picture-making)
said:

    1.
Movie pictures or pictures on a cinema film:

This
is a method which transmits moving pictures with sound for a limited
time span, showing all the events that happened within this time frame.
The picture which is shown by the film on the screen is the shadow or
reflection of that thing, not its real essence, after it has been recorded
on the film. It says in al-Sharee’ah al-Islamiyyah wa’l-Funoon
(Islamic sharee’ah and the Arts) that the cinema is called [in Arabic]
akhyaliyyah [from khayaal, meaning shadow or dim reflection],
“because it shows the shadows of things, not their real essence.”

2
– TV pictures

This
is a method which transmits pictures and sounds at the same time via
an electrical impulse. This is the result of the effect of light from
the object whose picture is being taken being reflected on a mica sheet
which is covered with a vast number of tiny particles made of photosensitive
material, manufactured from silver oxide and caesium, of which the particles
are separated from one another and isolated electrically.

This
kind of image-making using machines is very similar to the image on
a movie film, but in TV pictures, the images are changed to electronic
signals, then to electromagnetic waves, which are then either sent via
antennas to be picked up by the receiving apparatus in TV sets, within
the range that the signal can reach, or they are sent to be stored in
the form of magnetic changes on plastic tapes that have been plated
with the appropriate magnetic substance that can store these waves.

In
order to show what has been recorded on these tapes after these waves
have been stored, it has to pass through a machine which transforms
it once more into electronic signals then sends it to a screen in the
form of electrical signals, so that it appears as a picture, but only
after a complex operation.

The
TV set is the equipment which receives the electrical waves and gathers
them, then transmits them in a regulated manner in the form of a picture
with complete features.

There
is another kind which is considered to be similar to this kind of image-making.
This is something similar to the telephone which is used in some industrially-advanced
countries, which transmits both the voice and the image of the speaker,
so both parties can see one another on the screen of the device on which
they are talking.

Similarly,
there are cameras which are installed at the doors of houses. This system
picks up the voice and image of the person who is coming to the house
and transmits it to a screen inside the house, so that whoever is inside
the house can see it clearly. And similarly there is equipment which
is used to watch out for criminals stealing and so on in banks, stores,
etc.

These
kinds of equipment are considered to be of one kind, but are used for
a variety of purposes, whereby the camera covers the area which is to
be watched over, and it transmits the images to a screen like a TV,
where the image appears clearly. New things are appearing all the time,
and we do not know what will appear in the future. If this indicates
anything, it indicates the mind-boggling expansion of the use of machines
to make images of both kinds, both still and moving, in many areas,
including manufacturing, war, security, education, medicine, social,
etc.

Ahkaam
al-Tasweer by Ahmad ibn ‘Ali Waasil, p. 65-67

Shaykh
Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:

With regard to pictures made in the modern fashion, they
fall into two categories:

The
first category is those which have no tangible substance (and can only
be seen by running them through a machine), as I was told is the case
with pictures on video tapes. There is no ruling at all concerning these,
and they do not come under the prohibition at all. Hence the scholars
who forbid making pictures with cameras on paper (photographs) permitted
this (video pictures), and said that there is nothing wrong with this.
Then it was asked, is it permissible to film lectures which are given
in the mosques? The (scholarly) view was that it is better not to do
that, because it may disturb the worshippers and because they may film
things that may not be appropriate, and so on.

The
second category is fixed or still pictures on paper (photographs) …

But
the matter needs further discussion if one wants to make these kind
of permissible pictures. For they are subject to five rulings which
depend on the intention. If the intention is something forbidden, then
it is haraam. If he intends something waajib (obligatory), then it is
waajib. Sometimes pictures may be essential, especially moving pictures.
For example, if we see someone in the act of committing a crime against
a person’s rights, such as an attempt to kill and so on, and we cannot
prove it in any way but by taking pictures, then in this case taking
pictures becomes waajib, especially in cases where pictures may decide
the case. The means are subject to the rulings on the ends. If we make
these pictures in order to prove the identity of a person for fear that
someone else may be accused of the crime, this is also acceptable, indeed
it is essential.

But if we take these pictures just to enjoy
looking at them, this is undoubtedly haraam... And Allaah knows best.”

The story of magic against the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and its meaning

Islam Question and Answer - The story of magic against the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and its meaning

The story of magic against the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and its meaning
Is the hadith about the magic on Prophet (PBUH) authentic? i've heard alot about this.

Praise be to Allaah.

The hadeeth of magic against the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a saheeh hadeeth which was narrated by
al-Bukhaari, Muslim and other imams of hadeeth. Ahl al-Sunnah accept this
story and no one denies it except an innovator. There follows the text of
the hadeeth, its source, its meaning and the refutation by the scholars of
those who deny it.

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with
her) said: A spell was put on the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) until he imagined that he had done a thing when he had
not done it. One day he made du’aa’ then he said: “Do you know that Allaah
has shown me in what lies my cure? Two men came to me and one of them sat at
my head and the other at my feet. One of them said to the other, ‘What is
ailing the man?’ He said: ‘He has been bewitched.’ He said: “Who has
bewitched him?’ He said: ‘Labeed ibn al-A’sam.’ He said, ‘With what?’ He
said: ‘With a comb, the hair that is stuck to it, and the skin of pollen of
a male date palm. He said: ‘Where is it?’ He said, ‘In the well of
Dharwaan.’” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
went out to the well, then he came back and said to ‘Aa’ishah when he came
back: “Its date palms are like the heads of devils.” I said: “Did you take
it out?” He said: “No. Allaah has healed me, and I feared that that might
bring evil upon the people.” Then the well was filled in.

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3268; Muslim, 2189.

'A
comb

and the hairs stuck to it and.' The first one asked, 'Where
is that?'

The other replied, '(That is) in the well of Dharwan.' " So

Allah's Apostle along with some of his companions went

there and came back saying, "O 'Aisha, the color of its

water is like the infusion of Henna leaves. The tops of

the date-palm trees near it are like the heads of the

devils." I asked. "O Allah's Apostle? Why did you not

show it (to the people)?" He said, "Since Allah cured me,

I disliked to let evil spread among the people." Then he

ordered that the well be filled up with earth

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Al-Maazari said: The innovators rejected this hadeeth and
claimed that it detracted from the status of Prophethood and cast aspersions
upon it.  They said: Everything that leads to that is false. And they said
that accepting that meant that we could not be sure of the laws that he
prescribed, because it is possible that he imagined that he was seeing
Jibreel when he was not there, and that something had been revealed to him
when nothing had been revealed. Al-Maazari said: All of this is to be
rejected, because the evidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) was truthful in what he conveyed from Allaah and that he
was infallible in conveying it is well established. The miracles bear
witness to his truthfulness and accepting something when there is evidence
to the contrary is false. With regard to some worldly matters for which he
was not sent and which have nothing to do with his message, then he was
exposed to the same as all other human beings, such as sickness. It is not
far-fetched to say that he could be made to imagine something with regard to
worldly matters that was not true, whilst at the same time he was protected
against such things with regard to matters of religion.

Some people said that what is meant by this hadeeth is that
he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) imagined that he had had
intercourse with his wives when he had not done so. This is something that
people frequently imagine in their dreams, so it is not far-fetched to say
that he could have imagined that when he was awake.

I – Ibn Hajar – say: This is what is stated clearly in the
report of Ibn ‘Uyaynah that is narrated by al-Bukhaari, which says: “until
he thought that he had had intercourse with his wives when he had not done
so.”

‘Iyaad said: Thus it is clear that the witchcraft prevailed
over his body and physical faculties, not over his discernment and beliefs…

Al-Mahlab said: The protection of the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) against the devils does not mean that they
would not try to harm him. In al-Saheeh it is narrated that a devil
wanted to spoil his prayer but Allaah protected him against him. The same
applies to witchcraft; the harm that affected him did not have any impact on
his conveying of the message, rather it was akin to any other kind of
sickness that afflicted him, such as having difficulty in speaking or doing
certain things, or experiencing illusions that did not last. Rather it
passed and Allaah foiled the plots of the devils. End quote.

Fath al-Baari, 10/226, 227

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

How the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) was guided to treat the spell which Jews cast on him:

This has been denied by some people who said that this could
not have happened to him, and they thought that it was a shortcoming and a
fault. But it is not as they think, rather it comes under the heading of
sickness and pain that befell him; it is a kind of illness which befell him
just as he was also affected by poison – there is no difference between the
two. It is proven in al-Saheehayn that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be
pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings
of Allaah be upon him) was bewitched until he thought that he had had
intercourse with his wives when he had not done so, and that is the worst
kind of witchcraft.” Al-Qaadi ‘Iyaad said: Witchcraft is a kind of sickness
which happened to him like other kinds of sickness. That cannot be denied
and it does not detract from his Prophethood.

With regard to his
imagining that he had done something when he had not done it, that does not
have any impact on his truthfulness, because of the evidence to that effect
and the scholarly consensus that he was protected from that. Rather it was
one of the matters of this world which are not the reason for which he was
sent, and which are not the basis of his virtue and in which he was like all
other human beings. It is not far-fetched to say that he might imagine some
things that were not real, then things became clear to him later on, as
indeed happened. End quote.

Zaad al-Ma’aad, 4/124

So it is clear that the hadeeth is saheeh, and that it does
not detract from the status of Prophethood. Allaah, may He be glorified and
exalted, protected His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) and made him infallible before this spell was cast, during it and
afterwards. The spell did no more than make the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) think that he had had intercourse with his
wives when he had not done so; it had to do with a purely worldly matter,
and had nothing to do with his conveying of the message at all. The words of
the scholars quoted above are sufficient, and whoever wants to know more may
refer to Fath al-Baari and Zaad al-Ma’aad.

And Allaah knows best.

I was with Dhi-an-Nun on the edge of a stream, when we saw an extraordinarily large lizard crawling along the side of the stream. Something strange yet wonderful then happened. A frog surfaced from the stream, the lizard mounted its back, and the frog then swam to the other side of the stream, carrying its passenger on its back.

Dhi-an-Nun said, "There is something interesting about that lizard let us go and follow it." We crossed the stream (which wasn’t so wide in width), and on the other side, we saw a drunken man who had passed out. Suddenly, a snake appeared before the prone body of the drunkard. It slithered its way up to the man’s navel to his chest, making a direct course to one of his ears.

The lizard we saw earlier then sprang into action. It jumped onto the snake and struck it violently, splitting its body into two. Returning to the edge of the stream, the lizard then mounted the frog again, and the two crossed to the other side of the stream, though both were still visible to us. Dhi-an-Nun woke up the drunkard, who slowly opened his eyes and became conscious of what was happening around him. Dhi-an-Nun said, "O young man, look how Allah has saved you! When this snake came to kill you, that lizard came and killed it. He then eplained the entire story to the young man.

The young man stood up and exclaimed: "O my lord, this is how you deal with one who disobeys you, then what will your mercy be like for the one who obeys you?" He then betook himself to the desert, vowing to dedicate his life to worship and to never return to the evils of the city.

Whoever does not read the stories of the Salaf and the path that they tread, he can never tread that path.  It is befitting for a person to know and understand that the nature of an individual (character) is a thief.  If a person leaves his nature with the people of his time, his nature will steal from theirs and he will become similar to them.  But if he reads into the lives of the Salaf his nature will join theirs and he will learn from their character….(Telblees Iblees)

The following are just a few examples from the past and present day scholars informing of their love of knowledge and their preference of it over relaxation.

First:

It was reported by Ibn al Qayyim in his book: “Rawdatul Muhibeen”, I was informed by my Sheikh (Ibn Taymiyyah), he said:

When I became sick the doctor said to me: Verily your research and Islamic lecturing increases your illness.  I (Ibn Taymiyyah) replied: I can not stop, and I will debate you in your knowledge! If a person becomes happy and joyful doesn’t this strengthen their soul or spirit, and as a result wards off illness? The doctor responded: Of course.  So I (Ibn Taymiyyah) said: Verily my spirit is pleased with knowledge and it strengthens my nature and due to that I find relaxation.  The doctor responded: This is something our knowledge doesn’t apply to.

Second:

It was reported by Sheikh Muhammed bin Hadee to some of his visitors that he was told a story by Ahmed Al Hakimy, the brother of Sheikh Hafith Al Hakimy:

One year while Sheikh Hafith Al Hakimy was on Hajj or during Ramadan in Mecca, he was looking for the book titled: “Creation of The Servant’s Action” by Imam Al Bukhari. While in Mecca he was informed that someone had arrived from India with a copy of the book and that he had given it to the library there in The Haram.  Sheikh Hafith visited the library and requested to borrow the book under the condition that he would not leave the Haram and that he would return the book the following day after the rising of the sun.  He took the book and requested for someone to bring him paper and a pen.  He sat and made his own copy of the book.  Then he continued to memorize the book until Fajr. After Fajr he rested for a short period of time and then woke up.  Upon waking, he returned the original book to the library and said: Here is your original, and here is an extra copy (the copy he himself wrote) and the book is in my head (memorized).
May Allah grant Sheikh Hafith Al Hakimy ease in his grave and raise him with the righteous ameen.

It was also mentioned by Sheikh Ahmed An Najmee the following:

We (as young boys) were instructed by our teacher Sheikh Abdullah Al Qara’wee to memorize the Quran in preparation for the month of Ramadan.  We would memorize during the day, and toward the end of the day we gathered to test one another in memorization.  I (Ahmed An Najmee) memorized a hizb for that day.  Surprisingly, Hafith Al Hakimy memorized a full Juz!  We continued for a full month, and everyday Hafith would memorize a full Juz completing the entire Quran in one month!

Third:

It was reported by Sheikh Abdul Kareem Al Kudair:

I was informed by one of the widows of Sheikh Abdul Azeez bin Baz that one day he returned home from the hospital, and upon entering the house she noticed that he was very tired and exhausted.  After falling to sleep, she changed his alarm clock from the normal set time for night prayer, to a later time.  The Sheikh woke at his normal time without the clock and inquired why the clock did not work.  His wife informed that she had changed the time in order for him to relax.  He admonished her and said: Relaxation is in Paradise!

Ibne Abbas (RA) narrates: Rasulullah (Peace be upon him) sent Abdullah ibne Rawaha (RA) with a Jamaat (expedition) on a Friday. His companions set off in the morning, but he decided to stay behind and catch up with them after offering Salat-ul-Jumah (Friday Prayers) with Rasulullah (Peace be upon him). When he did so, he was spotted by Rasulullah (Peace be upon him), who inquired: What prevented you from going out in the morning with your companions. He replied: I wanted to offer Salat-ul-Jumah with you and then join them. He said: If you spend all that is present in the world, you will still not be able to attain the reward and virtues of those who left in the morning.

The following is a touching story about a new Muslim and his mother. Before he was a Muslim, he lived with his mother until he was about 18 years old. Then he moved out of his home and lived in a different place on his own. During those days, he met some Muslims and became a very close friend of them. Eventually he himself became a Muslim after learning about the beautiful religion of Islam from them. He made an effort every day to learn more and more about Islam. One day, he came to learn about the benefits of being good to one's parents. He learned that a person who looks at his parents with the eyes of obedience gets the reward of one accepted Hajj! (The reward is mentioned in an authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim). After knowing this, he decided to visit his mother whom he did not visit for many years. He bought some flowers and fruits for her on his way. His mother was very pleased to see him after so long. He started spending lots of time with his mother on a regular basis. During his visits, he would stare at his mother and tears would roll down from his eyes. The mother noticed this happening many times and asked him one day the reason why he visits her so much all of a sudden and why he cries. He told her about how he became a Muslim and that the position of a mother in Islam is very high. He also told her about the reward he gets for looking at her. But while looking at her, he cries because the mother is not a Muslim and would not be able to save herself if she dies in this state. The mother immediately recognized the beauty of Islam and became a Muslim.

Shaytan was having a hard day. He was unable to find any true challanges to entice into following him into hellfire. The hypocrites and non-believers were no problem. He did not even have to search for them, they flocked to him by the millions every day. They were almost pests and more common then horse flies in a barn on a hot summer day.

"Hmmm" thought Shaytan "I need a real challenge to prove I can mislead anybody" "Where should I look for my prize victim?"

Then it came to him. Go to the Masjid and look for the most innocent person leaving after morning Fajr..He went and waited, soon many came out in a big rush to get to work. He thought "these people may be faithful, but they do not have the piety to stay for saying Du'as" He then decided to wait for the very last person to leave. After what seemed to be a very long wait a very young girl dressed modestly and wearing both a hijab and Niqab came out. Although Shaytan could not see her face or body he knew she was immaculately beautiful by the glow that surrounded her. Here is my challenge he thought.

His evil mind devised a plan to lead this innocent child into his clutches. She was young and pure but she was also at an age when she would have thoughts of marriage and thinking of a man in her arms. This was the weakness he would attack and lead this innocent into the trap of fitnah and zina.

He knew he could not conquer her directly, but he could easily entice a handsome young man who had already tasted and yearned for pleasures of the flesh. It was easy to whisper into this young man and tell him how lovely and desirable that young girl would be. He whispered to the young man ways to be deceitful, flirtatious and filled him with desire for the young girl.

The young man tried to seduce the girl with flirtation, but she scorned and ignored his advances. Shaytan whispered more and urged the man to be more forceful. The young girl did her best to fight him off but he was too big and too strong to fight him. She did her best and fought to her death. As she laid on the ground dieing a peaceful smile crossed her face and her last word was "Allaah(swt)

Shaytan was furious with anger, he struck out at the young man and shouted. "You fool you sent my prize directly to Allaah(swt) and because of you I have lost her forever for she surly will be in Jannah when I enter the Hellfire."

The young man answered "But you now have me?"

"Idiot" Shouted Shaytan "You always were mine, your own lustful desires sent you to me. I did not have to capture you. You ran to me and would still be going to the hellfire even if I had never spoken to you"

Once ten wise men came to Hadhrat Ali(RA) and posed this question: 'Why is knowledge better than wealth?' Each of these men demanded a seperate answer in turn. Hadhrat Ali(RA) gave the following anwers:-

1. Knowledge is better than wealth because you guard wealth, whereas knowledge guards you.

2. Knowledge is better than wealth because the wealthy have enemies and the learned have many friends.

3. Knowledge is better than wealth because the former is a legacy of the Prophets, and the latter is a heritage of the Pharaohs.

4. Knowledge is better because it increases with distribution whereas wealth decreases.

5. Knowledge is better because a wealthy person generally becomes a miser.

6. Knowledge is better because unlike wealth, it cannot be stolen.

7. Knowledge is better because the wealthy person has to give an account of his wealth on the Day of Judgement.

8. Knowedge is better because it does not deteriorate on account of time, while wealth does.

9. Knowledge is better because the mind is illuminated by it, wheres welath tarnishes it.

10. Knowledge is better than wealth because the Pharaohs and the non-believers claimed divinity (God) on account of wealth.

As Salamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Islam!

I hope you all are doing Great and having a good time increasing your knowledge here , InshaAllah! May Allah Grant you all with the best of health and strong emaan, Ameen!

A few days ago I heard a quite sad and emotional story but with a Great message! I would like to share it with you and hopefully we will all take the message and learn from it, InshaAllah!

There was a very wealthy, rich and powerful man with high status in the society. He lived with his wife and two children. This man was very unjust and unfair human with a very hard heart. His heart was so hard and cold, that if you split up the hardness of the heart on the earths population they would drown in it.

This man's wife tells and says:
"We resided in a detached house and my husband was a highly placed man. My husband was very aggressive
and did not have any good morale at all, both me and him were unfair humans. When we employed a duty girl, she did not stay with us for more than one or two months maximum because of all the abuse, punches, torture and punishment we exposed to the duty girls. We performed all kinds of torture and did not leave anyone out."

She tells:
"One day, a man came from my husband's village with one of his daughters and said to the rich man;
'My daughter here wants to work for you because we don't afford with food or drink and what amount
of salary you pay or whatever you give we can live of.'
My husband said 'Okey'. And they agreed on a salary and the man said to the daughter that he was going to
come and get the salary every month or send someone. The man and my husband agreed.

The poor girl were only 12 years old and said: 'Please father, dont leave me! I can't live too far away from my father and mother!
Don't do this to me, please...!'

But the father left her and went.
The girl was now alone in a foreign home with foreign people as a duty girl. Worried and frightened...

The girl had a brother who worked in Jordan and he was her big hope!
Her brother used to tell her; 'InshaAllah my beloved sister, when I get back home you will not have
to work in lots of homes and such things and you are going to live an honourable life with a nice apartment
and I will buy you this and that and I will bring you this and that.'
This was her big hope..." tells the wife of the rich man.

In the rich man's house, they began to torture her severely, the wife tells;
"We used to give her electricity shocks with over 220 voltage power. We used to hang her on the roof
and fasten her. We gave her old bread and mouldy, rotten food. In the coldest winter days we forced her
to sleep on the ceramic plates in the kitchen. We injured her with all methods to the point she
tried to escape from us 6 times! And because of my husband's high position and status, he could get her day thereon,
and when we got her after she had escaped we let her go through all the kinds of torture a human could imagine!"

The poor girl says;"I went to my village only two times."
The first time was when she heard that her brother passed away on the way home from Jordan! Then she lost all hope!
The second time was when her mother died.
It was only these two times she went to her village; to go to her brother's funeral and then to her mother's funeral,
then she never went back there again.

These unjust humans carried on torturing her very harshly to the point that the girl's vision began to weaken and weaken, part by part. When she buyed things, she discovered that she had bought rotten and bad things and the girl didnt know what to do.
The people in the market felt sorry for her and helped her to shop and then she brought it to the family.

Daily they continued to beat her and torture her until she became totally blind!
When this girl became blind, they throwed her out on the street.
They said; "What are we going to do with her?! She is worthless now."

The girl walked around from home to home until they took her to a home where they take care of blind
children and those who have lost their sight.

Allah's regulations were put in work and after she had been tortured for 10 years by those people and put in the home
for blind people when she was 22 years old.

After that rich man retired from his placed position he became now completely worthless in the society and
lost his status. In addition to losing his status, he had no morale so nobody liked him, so he felt very bad.

When the man's son became older, he married a very beautiful girl. This girl got pregnant and everybody were happy
that there was a grandchild to come. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'alaa) settles the first surprise and this girl gives birth to a blind boy!

They were thinking if there is any connection between this newborn boy and that duty girl who got blind after all torture and suffering?

They started thinking and said;
"wonder if this is because of what we did?...
If our son gets another child, is the newborn going to be blind again?"
They got very confused and did not know what to do.
Her husband, who had high status, and when he saw his grandson blind like that, he got hysterical and was shocked
and they placed the man in a hospital.

The doctor told the son that they did not have to worry because it is not something hereditary and the boy was born blind through Allah's regulations. "InshaAllah in the future nothing will happen and you can have a child completely normal so no problems", the doctors said.

After two years the grandparents started to encourage their son to get another child, to increase their happiness
and they told him "Come on our dear son, make us happy with another child, a boy or a girl more,
your child is the only happiness in our life now."

So, the son's wife got pregnant again and the time for birth approached. Everybody was worried and no one
knows what will happen! The birth came and the son's wife got a baby and she got a very beautiful girl.
And they started asking the doctor about how the girl's sight is. The doctor said it was perfect!
The couple were more than happy and could not believe it was true!
They asked "The girl can see??"
"Yes!" responded the doctor.
"She have vision???" the couple asked with great happiness.
"Ofcourse!" said the doctor.
"And everything is fine with her?"
"Yes, she is perfect!"

6 months later the baby girl got blind...
This was the second disaster!..

The mother to the son felt what the reason was and started thinking;
"This is not possible that all of this happens without any reason. This cannot happen just like that..no no... This must be because of what we did to that poor duty girl, all the torture we exposed her to. The girl who had no one in this world and early became an orphan. Who had a cruel father who used her only as a merchandise towards some little amount in the end of the month, to the point where he only met her 2 times in 10 years. Its a punishment from Allah to us." the mother thought.

The mother began looking for the girl on every possible place; in the hospitals, residential retirement homes, orphanages and everywhere until she found her in the home for the visionally handicapped.
When the woman found her, she ran to and started hugging and kissing her over and over again and say; "Forgive me, my daughter."
"Who are you?" asked the girl.
"Its me!" replied the woman.
"Is it really you?" asked the girl when she recognised the woman's voice

The girl, SubhanAllah, when she heard the woman's name she remembered all the torture she had to go through the last 10 years. She thought; the woman who used to do that and that to me, she who used to give me electrical shocks, she who used to force me to sleep on the cold kitchen floor and used to give me rotten mouldy food!

The girl remembered all the difficult memories from the time of torture. She remembered when her brother passed away, the day her mother passed away, the day her father dumped her, the day they gave her electrical shocks, the day they ruined her life and future, the day they throwed he out when she became blind.

The woman said to her; "Do you forgive me, my daughter?"
After all they did to her, and by the girl's pure heart.. she said; "I forgive you..."
The woman took the girl with her and said that she wanted to compensate for what she had done to her and
raise this her up with her grandchildren whom also were blind as her.
The woman thought; "Maybe I will be forgiven for what I have done earlier if I take care of this girl."

Once upon a time. There was a rich merchant who had four (4) wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!" Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart.

The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition.

Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament.

As Salamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Islam!

I would like to post a text which I read on a sister's website and I think it will be beneficial for both sisters and brothers, InshaAllah!

September 6, 2009 by Naiyerah Kolkailah's hometown is San Luis Obispo, California, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Religious Studies in 2008. She formerly taught Arabic, Qur’an and Islamic Studies in her local community, and is currently pursuing higher education in Arabic and Islamic Studies in Doha, Qatar.

“You're just like a brother to me!” she'd often tell her Muslim college friend whom she's grown close to over the years. She feels comfortable with confiding in him, trusting him, opening up to him – but she’s never thought of him as a husband. They hang out together during their breaks, she calls him whenever she needs to vent, and she loves how he’s never judgmental towards her.

To him, she was a friend at first — but he soon discovered that he'd often feel a tinge of jealousy whenever she spoke nonchalantly and joked with other male classmates. It burned him inside, and he'd always try to pull her away casually without making his irritation apparent.

Many times, he'd look at her with admiration, smiling and melting away with his dreams of what could be for them. He would never dare bring up marriage to her, though. How could he when she only viewed him as her brother?

So, would you call these two good friends? Brother and sister maybe? Boyfriend and girlfriend?
As with many cases in the Muslim community, this is a confused pseudo-marriage framed under the guise of friendship or an innocent brotherly bond. As the two become lax in their interaction, their hearts naturally – albeit unintentionally – gravitate towards each other, their minds become occupied with each other, and one or both parties eventually develop feelings that either remain trapped or expressed and acted upon unlawfully. With their increasing closeness and intimacy, the special reserves of loyalty, emotional sentiments and halaal physical attraction may be exhausted before their rightful outlet in marriage.

If they end up not getting married and search elsewhere for a partner, they may never be content because they can't resist comparing potential spouses with their former "friend". Even if they eventually marry someone else, they will always have a history, and sometimes Shaytan can push them to reconnect and rekindle that past relationship during
marriage. It is no wonder why our wise Creator 'azza wa jall, who is well aware of our natures and inclinations, says in the Qur’an “…Nor of those who take (boy)friends…(4:25). With many commands and prohibitions in Islam, Allah has mercifully forbade the prerequisite acts that would lead to major sins. He is protecting us from Shaytan and from falling prey to our desires, which saves us the emotional distress and painful regret that often come as a consequence to disobedience.

It's also no wonder why it is purer and more chaste for both men and women to lower their gaze when speaking to those of the opposite gender (24:30-31), and to focus only on the tasks necessitating their communication. Remember Musa (`alayhissalam ) with the two daughters of Shu`ayb? Their interaction and communicating was exuding hayaa’ and self-respect; Musa (as) never struck personal, unwarranted conversation with them and when one of the daughters informed Musa (as) that her father is inviting him to reward him for his assistance, she walked (and spoke) with utmost modesty and dignity.

One of the greatest manifestations of modesty and also a safeguard to indecent conduct is the Muslimah’s Islamic dress. Besides obeying Allah and the Messenger’s commands in wearing loose, non-transparent, non-perfumed clothing, the attire brings with it an entire set of behavioral traits that the Muslim woman finds befitting to uphold. She
is no longer comfortable mingling with men, joking and laughing loudly with them – or behaving in any way that may ignite their desires. Her taqwa (God-consciousness) and hayaa’ with Allah become embodied in all her mannerisms – her body language, how she speaks and carries herself – and reminds her of amicably maintaining the boundaries that Allah and the Messenger (peace be upon him) would be pleased with.

There is a profound hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), which if practiced and truly believed in, can adorn our lives with blessings and many successes. It states: “There is nothing that you leave out of God-consciousness except that Allah will compensate you with something better” (Ahmad). We all long for acceptance and relationships that quell our loneliness and make us feel needed and loved. Perhaps if we devote our lives to increasing our love for Allah and gaining His love in return, He will bless us with halaal relationships that will be the greatest source of happiness, love, loyalty and compassion in this life and the better one to come.

It is important to think before doing an action and stay strong dear sisters and brothers, don't let Shaytan fool you and whisper things which will lead you slowly into a sin, InshaAllah!
Yesterday I read a story, don't unfortunately remember where, otherwise I would post the link here. But it was about a religious man who took care of a virgin girl while her 3 brothers were out for a period of time, and Shaytan whispered to the man to get closer to that girl each day until she gave birth to a baby from that man and the man was once again told by Shaytan to kill the girl and the baby and bury them. Aodhobillahi Mina Shaytan Al Rajeem.

May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'alaa) protect us from Shaytan's whispers and strengthen our emaan, Ameen.

Take Care and Stay Blessed all!
Wa Alaykumusalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

On a day when 'Ezra into his garden lush with trees and lush green leaves the fruit. His heart was enchanted by the beauty of the landscape garden. He also picked some fruit to take home. After that she went home with the donkey while enjoying the natural beauty of its surroundings. He did not realize that the donkey he was riding has lost road. After all this time he realized that he had been in an unknown area and also have been far from the village where she lived.

'Ezra watched the alien round area. "Hmm .. This place is like a former village that perished due to a devastating war ... "he thought.
At some point the village looked rubble with traces of human bodies were lying everywhere. He stepped down from his donkey carrying two baskets of fruit. He tethered the donkey to a tree, then he sat back on the wall of a house that had collapsed. He looked at the human corpses that have started to decompose it. His mind started racing,
"Hmm .. How do people dead and destroyed it on the Day of Judgement is turned on again by Allah?"

He kept thinking about it until fall asleep from exhaustion.
'Ezra continued to sleep until the day in and day out, month turned into months and years change without any waking in second. One hundred years have passed already, while the 'Ezra stayed asleep with the bodies that have been destroyed together with the land.

Then Allah reconstruct Ezra's flesh and bones that had been destroyed and blown his soul. At the same moment 'Ezra woke up and stood looking for his donkey and fruit in a basket.
Not long afterwards, some angels came down as he asked, "Do you know O 'Ezra how long you sleep?"
Without thinking 'Ezra said, "I slept all day or maybe half a day."

Then the angel had said to him, "O 'Ezra, you've been asleep for a hundred years. This is where you lie down, replaced the rain and hot sun, sometimes even blown storm. In such a long period, the fruits keep good condition. But let's see the donkey, he's already been destroyed eaten by the earth . "
With amazement, he alternately looked at the fruit that is fresh and his donkey was crushed out of shape.

The angel went on his words, "Look and see carefully. Thus the power of Allah. Allah can revive the dead and returning the bodies that have been devastated. With that easy too God will raise all the dead humans to be checked and everything he would has done will be judged in the hereafter. This is shown by Allah to you so that you and other humans do not hesitate any more about what is explained by Allah about life in the hereafter. "

Suddenly the donkey which had broken loose from that seen gathered flesh and bones, and eventually become like the old days, life as before death. So 'Ezra said, "Now I'm increasingly convinced that God hath power over all things."

Then 'Ezra came over his donkey and rode it home to his former house. But he was having trouble finding their way home. Roads that once he had spent a lot of change. He tried to remember what he had seen a hundred years ago. After a variety of difficulties, he finally reached his home. He found his home was shattered, most of the walls of his house had collapsed. He began hesitantly, "Is this really my house once .." Suddenly the 'Ezra saw there was an old woman hobbled. Both eyes are blind, so he had to walk using a cane fumble. Then 'Ezra asked, "Excuse me, mam.. Whose house is this?"

The old woman replied. "This is Ezra's home, but he was long gone and no longer heard the news story. After all everyone had forgotten him."
"Mom .. I'm Ezra, "explained 'Ezra." I have been turned off by Allah a hundred years ago. Now I've revived by God. "

The old woman was shocked as if not believing, then she said, 'Ezra is one of the most pious, his prayer is always answered by Allah and has a lot of merit in treating people who are sick "she continued again," I was the Ezra's waitress, my body was old and weak, my eyes had been blind since it is always crying memorizing 'Ezra. Even if you were 'Ezra then try to pray to Allah that my eyes can see the light and the master again."

Ezra had lifted his hands toward heaven and prayed to Allah. Suddenly the old woman both eyes opened and can see lighter again. His body tha was old and weak came back strong as if to be young again. After staring at the face of 'Ezra he said, "Yes, you are the master 'Ezra. I still remember."

News about the return of 'Ezra who disappeared after a hundred years was not only shocked the people of Bani Israel, but there are also questionable and did not believe him. However the news attract everyone's attention when he was alive. Therefore they wanted to test the truth of 'Ezra. Then came his own biological child as she asked, "I still remember that my father had a sign on his back. Try to check the signs." If there is, he is indeed 'Ezra. "

The sign exists on the 'Ezra, and some of them began to believe. But some still want more tangible proof, then they said to 'Ezra, "That since the invasion of Nebuchadnezzar in Children of Israel since the soldiers burned the sacred books of the Torah, that no one of the Israelites else who memorized the Torah, except' Ezra only. If it's true you are' Ezra, try to state the content of the right Torah."

'Ezra read the contents the Torah one by one fluently and smooth and no one mistake even slightly. Listen to it they believe that it is true 'Ezra. At that time, all nations, the Israelites would have believed that he was' Ezra who was dead and revived by Allah. Many of them were shaking hands and kissing the hand of 'Ezra and ask for advices. But some stupid Jews consider 'Ezra as a child of Allah. Glory to Allah does not have a son like 'Ezra or even Jesus for all His creatures merely belong to Him. [Source: QS. Al Baqarah: 259]
